  • Hi.. I'm Linda Otiende; a Personal Style Blogger. I think fashion and style is all about creativity; playing around with what you have to create something unique and stylish out of it. Blogging about my personal style is an interest I developed about three years ago when I discovered that as ladies, we really go to certain extremes to look good. Yes, we gotta look good but at the end of the day that does not mean that we have to wear the most expensive clothes or shoes to be stylish. You can actually work it out in the cheapest of them yet still ooze class! So welcome to my blog where I will get to show you my personal style and how I manage to look good on a budget. I do hope you enjoy.

Gratitude turns what we have into enough ~ Melody Beattie

As the year comes to a close, what are you grateful for? Personally I have so much to thank God for; life, good health, the gift of family and friends who care; just to mention a few. Even as we count down to the new year, make use of the holidays to just reflect and thank God for His continued blessings. I believe each and every one of us has something to thank God for and in fact starting the new year with a grateful heart should be one of your new year resolutions.

And with that, I want to wish you all a blessed 2018. Thank you all for your support on my blog.

    Cheers

    Hey..

How is your week coming along?

A quick outfit post for you right here.. You'll notice that I'm wearing wardrobe staples; the white long sleeved tee is something you can wear with absolutely anything; from a pair of jeans to a maxi skirt to a pencil skirt..you name it. This pair of jeans that I thrifted from an Instagram thrift store is my current fave because of the perfect fit and a fitting pair of jeans is therefore another staple you shouldn't miss ladies. The black overcoat can be worn casually like I did or to the office with a pair of pants..look out for a post later on this just to show you the versatility of this coat. So ladies, see why I always insist on wardrobe staples?

I do hope you enjoy today's post.

Don't forget to leave a comment below in the comments section.

Till next time, stay safe and keep warm
    Cheers
    xx

Before I discovered my love for color black, royal blue was my favorite color. I just love how bright it is and the radiance it adds to an outfit and that is exactly what this pair of royal blue flared pants did. Initially, I wasn't quite sure about pairing it with this one sided shoulder top but the final look turned out amazing! What do you think?

Enjoy today's post and have yourselves a lovely day and weekend ahead.

So on the 30th of last month I was privileged to attend the Maybelline Fit Me Store launch that took place at the Yaya Centre. I must say that the event was very well planned and the turnout was amazing. I have never really been a makeup kinda person; just the daily lippie and eyebrow routine but I must say that after this event I was so psyched up to get myself a few makeup goodies.

If you are an avid reader of my blog then I believe you remember me fretting about why I don't own foundation saying that I have never really found the perfect shade and whatever I've owned in the past always reacts with my skin but I am here to attest to the fact that when I used the Maybelline fit me matte foundation I never reacted to it. Then the matte look just made me love it more.

Ladies, this new matte me foundation is a must get and the price is pocket friendly; just 1500. And to add on to that, you don't have to worry about your shade, when you visit the Yaya Centre store there will be someone to help you with finding your shade. You will thank me later.

Below are a few pictures from the event; just the 'makeover process' pictures though. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take pics of my look after the makeover using the matte me foundation :-(

All in all enjoy today post and have a lovey weekend ahead.

    xx

A few goodies that were in the hamper I received from the Maybelline team plus the FitMe matte foundation I got for myself...

I love the direction Kenya is heading in terms of fashion. The rise in the number of talented designers is quite succinct judging from the unique outfits that we see featured on social media, TV, magazines and newspapers and I feel like its high time we supported our very own. That brings us to today's outfit; an ankara coat that I immediately fell in love with the minute I saw it. Let's not even start with the print on this particular one.. All thanks to one, Hellen Tolbert of House of Glamour Designs. This lady has got amazing skills when it comes to making you the perfect outfit for whatever occasion. Make sure to check out her Facebook page houseofglamour1; and Instagram page hellentolbert; Her amazing work will most definitely convince you to get something for yourself. Let me know what you think about this particular coat I'm wearing on the blog made by her.

Have yourselves a lovely day and weekend ahead.

    Cheers!

Whoever invented thrifting is just a gem! Let's not even mention the benefits that come with online thrifting all thanks to the rise in social media use that has taken thrifting to another level. I mean? How awesome is it to just shop from the comfort of your home? And then again, to be able to buy mitumba outfits from the comfort of your home is even more awesome. For this reason, I have become a thrift shopping addict and I'm always telling myself "Ugh!The price is not too much, furthermore I save costs on transport plus the effort and time to actually spend in Toi or Gikomba looking for something". So big up to whoever sells or has sold me a thrift outfit before on Instagram.

Back to my outfit for the day, whoever knows me knows my undying love for A-Line skirts. I find them very easy to wear and the fact that they can be worn to a wedding, to church, to the office or even as casual wear just makes me love them even more. Got the green one I'm wearing on the blog today from an online thrift store for just 600 Kshs (6 Dollars). I will put the details at the end of the post. And can you imagine the crop top was just 200 Kshs (2 Dollars)? Amazing, right? And that is why this thrift shopping addiction is not about to end anytime soon. So ladies, I would advise you to follow some of these online thrift stores especially on Instagram, you will thank me later!

Enjoy today's post and let me know what you think about this outfit.

    Cheers!
