  • Hi.. I'm Linda Otiende; a Personal Style Blogger. I think fashion and style is all about creativity; playing around with what you have to create something unique and stylish out of it. Blogging about my personal style is an interest I developed about three years ago when I discovered that as ladies, we really go to certain extremes to look good. Yes, we gotta look good but at the end of the day that does not mean that we have to wear the most expensive clothes or shoes to be stylish. You can actually work it out in the cheapest of them yet still ooze class! So welcome to my blog where I will get to show you my personal style and how I manage to look good on a budget. I do hope you enjoy.

Ladies would you rock a dress with a big bow? For me its a yes!No doubt about that. Reason being, bows are just but the perfect way to make a statement. So when I got hold of this dress courtesy of June by Design, I especially fell in love with the bow detail. You need to check out her website www.junebydesign.co.ke; her designs are very unique and you will fall in love with almost all her pieces. You can thank me later *wink*

So for the past few weeks, I have been doing a series on Work Wear Ideas where I got to show you different outfits you can wear to work. So to finish off, here is my last look. I hope you like it.

    Have a lovely weekend.
    Deuces.

Hello from this other side beautiful people...
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback from my previous post.

So today I will be filling you in on more about Najali. As I had mentioned earlier, Najali is a Swahili word meaning I care. The campaign was initiated by Bella, a fashion blogger at bellathecoffeeberry who reached out to me and four other ladies; Leah, Jackie, Esther and Aimie and told us about this great project she had in mind and low and behold..Najali came to be!

As Najali, Our Vision is to see women supporting and empowering each other.

Our Mission is to inspire women outside there by sharing our stories and giving an opportunity to other women to also share their stories. We also hope to encourage women to be better versions of themselves and at the same time we hope to inform by raising awareness on issues currently affecting women like the current rise in breast and cervical cancers, girl child minimal progress in education, domestic violence, childhood marriages and also participation in events such as International Women's Day among others.

    Our objectives
To build a network of women who support each other.
To give an opportunity to other women to share their stories.
To create a forum for discussion.
To blog for a purpose by generating productive high quality fashionable content.

We are living in a generation where women are finding it hard to accept themselves the way they are. We are going to certain extremes just to look beautiful and feel accepted. We do not realize that we are all unique in our own ways and we have to accept ourselves and our flaws because that is the first step to self confidence. I do believe that by giving another woman an opportunity to share their story on this platform, someone somewhere will be inspired to become a better version of themselves.

    Thank you for your time.
It's always a pleasure reading your comments so make sure to leave as many.

    Till next time

Girls compete with each other but women empower each other~Anonymous

    Drum roll please...

Introducing to you for the very first time, Najali Campaign Kenya, a campaign initiated by Bella, a fashion blogger at bellathecoffeeberry, who reached out to me and four other amazing ladies and told us about this great project she had in mind and low and behold, Najali came to be. Najali is a Swahili word meaning 'I care'.

So Najali is basically an initiative that will go a long way into making positive impacts in the lives of women by empowering women through fashion. Fashion is not necessarily about following trends; but instead fashion can be used to empower women. As a lady when you wear something you like then you are able to not only express yourself as a person but it also boosts your self esteem and confidence. In addition, Najali will involve the fusion of fashion blogging and current issues affecting women like the girl child minimal progress in education, women dis empowerment among other issues.

So let's get to meet the ladies behind this campaign..

    Yours Truly

    Jackie Waceke of www.fashionfabled.com

    Leah Okumu of www.proudlyelled.com

     Esther Wanjiku of eesome.co.ke

Let me know what you think about this idea.

Count yourself lucky if your work place allows you to be in casual wear come Friday. For most of us when we hear casual we think jeans but casual doesn't necessarily mean that. You can still wear that skater dress to work yet still go for a maxi depending on your definition of casual as long as at the end of the day you are decently dressed putting into consideration that it is a work environment.

So still on the 'Work Wear Ideas' series, for my 3rd look I decided to show you what you can wear to work on a Friday if you are allowed to be in casual. So I opted to go with a pair of blue jeans and a white tee. To add some class to the outfit, I added a blue blazer and a pair of blue heels.

Do let me know what you think about the outfit.

Have a lovely week and month ahead.
