  • Hi.. I'm Linda Otiende; a Personal Style Blogger. I think fashion and style is all about creativity; playing around with what you have to create something unique and stylish out of it. Blogging about my personal style is an interest I developed about three years ago when I discovered that as ladies, we really go to certain extremes to look good. Yes, we gotta look good but at the end of the day that does not mean that we have to wear the most expensive clothes or shoes to be stylish. You can actually work it out in the cheapest of them yet still ooze class! So welcome to my blog where I will get to show you my personal style and how I manage to look good on a budget. I do hope you enjoy.

It is quite interesting that most of us ladies actually have a lot of jewellery yet we don't know how to store them. Ladies am talking of those mornings you happen to oversleep and you are in a hurry to get to work on time yet you have to look good.

What happens when you can't find your favorite pair of earings? You simply overturn your jewellery box so you could easily spot that pair you need and all you do is end up leaving tangled clump of chains and trinkets, earings, bracelets and before you realize it your dressing table actually looks like a tangle of treasure.

At the end of the day what you have to put up with are hours of frustration looking for missing earring backs and attempting to separate those silver chains which at times end up being cut because of the tangling.

Organizing your life may seem more tasking for now but it takes small to be big..we all start somewhere in order to be where we want to be, don't we? So basically start by organizing the small simple things in your life then the rest will fall into place:-)

So for today I will show you how I organize my jewellery so I never have to give silly excuses for getting late or put up with buying jewellery every now and then because of mishandling.

These are what I use to store my jewellery..

Here's what I use to store my bangles and bracelets..

Then we have this small organizer container I got as a gift from mum. At first I didn't actually know what I would use it for but later on I got to discover its importance..

For my neck pieces I use this.
Makes it so easy to pick what I need.

Then we have this pretty one I also got as a gift from my mum.
Its where I store my other necklaces..

Then finally I have this other smaller organizer which I use for my earings.
This way am able to easily get a hold of even the tiniest of them.

    Here are a few other tips for you;
    1. Try to keep all your items in sight so it makes it easier to actually find what you are looking for.

    2. For your necklaces, store them individually; like for me I store my African neck pieces separately from my pendants and silver chains. Its even much better and easier if you invest in a holder or you could mount a small nail on your wall and hang them there.

    3. For your bracelets and bangles you could also choose to hang them or compartmentalize them in drawers. Good thing is that they don't tangle. So you could still opt for a nice jewellery box like mine..:-)

    4. For your earings get a container with a number of compartments that will allow you to store them in a  way that you can easily find them. For those with dangling earings find something you can use to hang them freely coz they are also fond of tangling like chains.

So ladies unless you organize your jewellery, you will not be able to make good use of it. There will always be one item or another that will escape your notice. Please lets avoid this!

Hope you enjoyed today's read. Feel free to leave any comments or suggestions.
    Until my next post..
    Cheers..:-

It actually does make sense as a lady to invest in an item that will end up lasting for more than just a season. Trends come and go..what will happen if you keep on shopping for just but the latest trends? All you'll do is spend more and more on clothing. So as a lady its important to invest in the right wardrobe essentials which will work out for you in whatever season without being a spend-thrift.
    1. Pencil Skirt
This is another wardrobe staple ladies you shouldn't miss in your wardrobe. Just by finding the right pairing, it could work as a casual wear, a formal wear or you could even rock it to a wedding. The choice is yours!

    2. The Little Black Dress (LBD)
The LBD is one versatile piece you shouldn't be missing in your wardrobe ladies. It is chic and just works best for almost every occasion. Be it a wedding, an interview(just by pairing it with a blazer), church, party out with friends, dinner, the list is endless...Lets just say the LBD is an important piece of artillery you most definitely need to have in your wardrobe. Find the perfect fit and you are set to go!

    3. Black Fitting Blazer
A fitting blazer will  give you an updated look to the formal wear. It works best to accentuate a woman's figure and gives her a mature look. When worn with the right piece it creates a great number of stylish looks.

    4. The White Tee
Simple yet so stylish, the White Tee goes well with any casual outfit. You could tuck it in a maxi-skirt or rugged  jeans or still layer it under a blazer and it will completely spice up your look.

    5.White Button-Shirt Blouse
From a sophisticated office design look to a casual look, the white blouse is most definitely a timeless addition to any wardrobe.

    6. Perfect Pair of Jeans
It's most definitely worth it to spend a bit more extra for a pair of jeans that fit and flatter your figure. Who wouldn't want to show off that God-given figure?? At least not me:-)

    7.Classic Black Heels
Classic black heels can take you from morning to evening. They are universal. Rock them to the office, to a wedding, a dinner date...This is just but a classic piece you shouldn't miss in your wardrobe. Find the perfect fit and manageable height and you are good to go!

    8.Girly Dress
This is another classic piece you shouldn't be missing in your wardrobe. It can be an office wear just by layering a black fitting blazer and a slim belt, you could as well rock it to a wedding or a dinner date by accessorizing it using the right jewelry and adding the right pair of heels; yet still it could be a casual wear just by layering a denim blouse and finding the right pair of flats for it. See..so simple!

    9.The Maxi Dress
Ever noticed how the Maxi Dress is always around? This is most definitely a must have item. Be it a visit to 'his' parents, a wedding, a dinner date, a walk to the beach etc the maxi dress is one feminine must have!

    10.Flats/Sandals
Last but not least, ladies you need that pair you can run errands in. Once in a while your feet may require a break from the 6 inch stilettos so invest in a few pairs. Study actually shows that putting on heels frequently is not good for your back so ladies let's try avoid high-heel horrors. Its too early to start complaining of back problems!:-(

That's it for today. Until next time..
    Cheers:-)

    . Tuesday, January 13, 2015 .

Its 13 days already into the New Year but I want to believe my greetings still count so Happy New Year to you my reader...:-) Am hoping 2015 is off to a great start for you.

So what are your plans this year? Still working on those resolutions? Personally I don't believe much in resolutions because at the end of the day I never get to fulfill them. I always feel that setting goals seems more realistic because it gives you a certain direction in life and at the end of it you find that it actually contributes to boosting your self confidence as an individual.

Doesn't it feel good at the end of the day once you realize you have achieved your goals? Of course it does.. So don't just set goals, set realistic goals.

Someone once said that "Living a life without setting goals is like sailing a ship without having a planned course: you're likely to end up somewhere that you wouldn't want to go! This is why you need to set goals to develop yourself and achieve your dreams".

Back to my post for today, I will be featuring a Tulle Skirt and here are the outfit details...
