  • Hi.. I'm Linda Otiende; a Personal Style Blogger. I think fashion and style is all about creativity; playing around with what you have to create something unique and stylish out of it. Blogging about my personal style is an interest I developed about three years ago when I discovered that as ladies, we really go to certain extremes to look good. Yes, we gotta look good but at the end of the day that does not mean that we have to wear the most expensive clothes or shoes to be stylish. You can actually work it out in the cheapest of them yet still ooze class! So welcome to my blog where I will get to show you my personal style and how I manage to look good on a budget. I do hope you enjoy.

Just two more days and its a wrap! Unbelievable, right? I am most definitely looking forward to 2016 as I have so much in store for you on the blog.

I sincerely want to thank all of you who've always spared a few minutes to drop by my blog and even comment. You are just awesome and may God bless you and increase you. A big shout out to all my blogger friends; you all are awesome and I hope to meet you one of these days.

With that I will share with you some of my best looks from 2015.

Wishing you all a Prosperous 2016 and may the Lord continue to bless you.

    Much Love,
    Linda's World of Style.

    1. Accessorize
This is the best fashion tip of all times. Accessorizing an outfit just takes it to a whole new level. By accessories here I mean hats, jewelry, belts, scarves etc

    2.Experiment
Stop playing safe. Experiment with as many color combos as you can. That way you even get to know what colors bring out the best in you. Wearing color actually does wonders to your whole appearance so I challenge you to come out of your comfort zones.

    3. Show skin strategically
Just how much is too much? If you want to show a bit of leg, stick to that. If you are the 'no sleeves' type, go ahead and if its cleavage just stick to that. Too much can turn out to be sleazy.

    4. Embrace your shape
Am too curvy?! Am too slim?! Stop complaining and embrace yourself the way you are. Use what you have to bring out the best. If you are curvy then dress your curves. If you are slim; find something that works for you e.g don't go for clingy clothes coz they'll make you look slimmer but instead go for stripes (horizontal), heavy prints, peplums etc

    5. Invest in staples
When you invest in wardrobe staples you will never be worried about what to wear.

It is smart to invest in timeless staples because they never go out of style and in any case you can build the rest of your wardrobe around them Style Guide

    6. Invest in a good tailor
Once in a while its good to have your clothes tailored. It is inexpensive and you get clothes that fit you perfectly. And what's even best is that a year down the line you can still take it back to the tailor for alterations depending on whether you've gained or lost.

    7. Be comfortable in what you wear
Never at any given time should you sacrifice your comfort for fashion. Do not suffer in that 6 inch heel or micro skirt just because you want to be the center of attention. Style and confidence go hand in hand.

    8. Dress for yourself
When you dress for others then you lose your self confidence because at the end of the day you are trying to impress others which shouldn't be the case. Dress up because you want to and that way you will feel comfortable and confident.

Some time back I did a post on how to look good in black. In case you missed out, no need to worry..here's the link How to look good in black

One of the tips I shared was that when wearing an all black outfit, you can go for a colorful bag/clutch purse or even shoes that will give the whole outfit an attractive look and break the monotony. So for today's look, I decided to throw in a pair of leopard print heels and a colorful bag.

Do enjoy and have an awesome week ahead.

For quite a while now, pink has been considered a girlish color...reason? I really don't know. But can you imagine a guy in pink shoes, a pink suit or even a pink phone..super weird right..? Yet for us ladies it feels just normal but hey! That doesn't mean that guyz shouldn't be seen in pink outfits. It looks ok when done in a not so noticeable way; say when worn in stripes, plaid, polka etc. But guyz if you are the daring type and you are sure to rock your pink well, go ahead and slay!

Enjoy today's post and have an awesome weekend ahead.

    Hi *waves in excitement*

I know I've been MIA but guess what?Am back! I haven't been in good health for the past few weeks but am currently on medication and hopefully I will be back to frequent blogging. I want to believe you are all keeping well despite this cold weather which am really hoping will come to a halt come January.

The year is coming to a close and we all are looking forward to the festive season; a time to make merry with our loved ones. However many of us actually forget to take this time to also give back to the society as a way of telling God that you are grateful for the blessings He continues to bestow upon you. For many of us waking up in good health is just but a routine yet what you don't realize is that someone else is fighting for their life in hospital; another is sleeping hungry in the cold but you on the other hand are in good health and you have never lacked. So I challenge you today to always make it a habit to pray and be thankful to God at all times.

Back to my post for today, we are talking pleats; which obviously takes most of you back to your primary/high school days when pleats used to be part of your school uniform. Then, if you gave me a pleated dress or skirt am not so sure I'd wear it but come 2015 I most definitely would rock it! Pleats are gracing our fashion shows and red carpets and I just love how feminine they make a lady look.

For today's look I decided to go with a maxi pleated dress courtesy of my mum. Enjoy today's post, leave a comment; its always my joy reading them and have yourselves an awesome week ahead.

What do I wear to the interview? This is a question millions of people around the world think over when planning to go for an interview. The way you dress to a job interview makes a huge statement about yourself before you even open your mouth.

Whether you know it or not, your appearance is the first thing people notice about you. Its said that first impressions are usually formed within the first 30 seconds.

In an interview, dressing professionally demonstrates respect and also shows your potential employer that you are taking the interview seriously. It can also boost your own self-confidence during the interview

Gee, a blogger that owns learnershipsa.com, has created this info graphic titled "7 Dressing Mistakes That Can Sabotage Your Job Interview" that gives practical tips on what NOT to wear for your next job interview. This guide should help you enhance your job interview in the future.

Its only in Kenya where you can actually experience the pleasure of having three seasons in a day. You wake up in the morning and its cold, by the time its lunchtime you are already sweating but then again when it gets to evening you are actually glad that you carried your trench coat with you. Very confusing if you ask me.

In other news, Happy New Month...

So  today's post is all about long coats. The long coat is a great way to keep warm yet at the same time make a fashion statement especially when worn with heels. Can you imagine that I actually got mine from Gikomba for just 200Kshs(2 Dollars)? Awesome, isn't it?And what I love most about it is that it provides just the perfect cover up. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be owning one.

Enjoy today's post and have a lovely week ahead.

Can't imagine we are actually a few days into the month of November which basically means 2015 is almost coming to a close. This year has most definitely gone so fast and woe unto you if you are the kind to procrastinate; the year might just end with you having accomplished basically nothing. So leave procrastination to the lazy bones! Do it now when you still have the zeal. Wake up, work hard, fall, get up again and persist. The only way you can learn is if you fail and never give up.

So today's post is all about Midis. Midi skirts have taken the fashion world by storm and I like how elegant and classy they make a lady look especially when worn with heels. They are actually very easy to wear and can be worn both during the day and at night. They show just the right amount of leg whether fitting or not.

For today's look I decided to wear the skirt with a mustard vest I got from Mr Price and I absolutely loved the outcome. Mustard is most definitely a color that is fun to play around with and will brighten any outfit.

    Enjoy today's post..
